Today's photo is based on the word reflection. A reflection can be something like looking at yourself in the mirror, or sitting in a quiet space and concentrating on your inner thoughts.
Lent is most definitely a time of reflection. By sitting down a taking the time to reflect on what you have done you can focus on what you need to change. In a time of reflection it is easy to talk with God about what you need forgiveness for. Unless you take the time to think it is difficult to be able to realize what mistakes you might have made. As I said in a previous post, it is easy to brush the things we regret or are ashamed of to the back of our minds. Reflecting forces us to move forward in our relationship with God because it gives us a quiet time to ourselves without distractions from others.
I challenge you to go in the other room, away from everyone else, and reflect:
First think about what you feel needs to change. What mistakes have you made that could have been avoided? What do you need to ask God for forgiveness for?
Next think about what has gone right. What have you been happy with in your life? What had God blessed you with recently?
Finally make a plan. How are you going to avoid making the same mistakes again? How can you use your blessings to your advantage? How can you make sure that you are following in the footsteps that God intended for you?
Hopefully reflecting helps clear your mind and reconnect with God in a time that might be hectic and crazy.
