The theme for the photo today is "hope". Hope is a feeling that you experience deep down in your heart. It is a desire for something to happen and a vision of it happening. Lent is full of hope.

All of us have hope for something. Many people hope for a promotion or that next big step in their future. During this time, as Catholics, we hope for the resurrection of Jesus Christ. In general we hope for our everlasting life in heaven. Hope is an important part of our lives whether we realize it or not. Hope is what drives us forward and gives us life. It motivates us to keep going with the idea that we might reach our ultimate goal or reward. During this Lenten season we encounter the switch from winter to spring, which is a season full of hope. There is new growth and life all around us. Spring brings a beauty that was not apparent during the cold winter months. It brings a time of hope for those students graduating and heading off on new endeavors. While hope is a virtue that is necessary within the faith, it is surrounding us every day.

Take the time to focus on what you are hopeful for during this Lenten season. Are you hopeful that you can stay true to your sacrifice until Easter? Are you lookig forward to hearing back from that job you just applied for? Maybe you're hopeful for a joyous Easter. Really look inward and pray to God about what you are hopeful for and thank him for blessing you with the ability to be hopeful.
