Day 35 - PRAYER

The theme for the photo today is "prayer". Prayer is such an important part of the faith. It is something you can do anywhere and anytime. To me, prayer is something that gives me peace of mind. It provides a listening ear to talk to at all times, whether it is good or bad. Sometimes you just need someone to talk to that will let you get all of your thoughts out on the table and will help steer you in the right direction. Yes, we all have that friend that we tell just about everything, but God is different. The conversation is internal. He does not judge or get mad at you for actions you may have taken, or mistakes you may have made. I am always calling upon God for guidance. This world is huge, confusing, and at times scary. This is why prayer is so important. When times get tough He is there to call for help, to cry to, to question. When times are going well He is there to thank, praise, and celebrate. He is your biggest fan. Sometimes you will need to ask Him why He is making certain decisions for you, and this is what prayer is for. It provides answers, while not quite as clear as a person to person conversation, as long as you are open to let God in to your life.
Prayer can easily be over looked because we "don't have time", but as I have said before, this is a misconception. Prayer can happen anywhere. You can speak with God while you're driving, walking, going to the bathroom, sitting in class, working, really ANYWHERE! There is no way that every second of the day is entirely taken up. I find that the easiest time to pray is right before I go to bed. Even if I am just laying in bed, falling asleep, there is always enough time to thank God, ask God for help, and just reflect on the day. Make it a priority to speak with God as much as possible, because He will lead you in ways that will help you substantially.
